The NCHA maintains a register of members, publishes a monthly magazine with photos, show results, trainer interviews, calendars of coming events, reports from the board members and notification of rule changes and feature articles.
The NCHA also keeps a register of all competing horses and riders and tallies points earned toward year end titles and lifetime honours and provides National High Point awards annually for 12 different categories of Cutting Competition, based on money won and provides an Area System of High Point Awards for 10 different Areas throughout Australia on a point system.
We publish a rule book every three years. Stage the NCHA Futurity, NCHA National FInals each year, and host the USA/Australia Non Pro Challenge every second year, conduct judging clinics and maintains a judges register, assists affiliates with non pro schools and supervises the NCHA Professional Trainers Association.
We approve and provide insurance for over 200 shows per year, provide promotional material and merchandise, maintain a web site and publish a Year Book.
Membership Qualifications
A person is qualified to be a member of the Association if, but only if the person is a natural person, corporation, society or other body who:–
i) has been nominated for membership of the Association as provided by Rule 6; and
ii) has been approved for membership of the Association by the Board of the Association.
iii) The Board at its absolute discretion shall have the right to refuse membership of the Association.
Membership of the Association shall consist of members of the following classes;-
a) Ordinary members;
b) Life Members;
c) Youth members (non voting);
d) Affiliate members;
e) Constituent members;
f) Honorary members (Honorary Life Members) (non voting);
g) Associate members (non voting); and
h) Restricted members (non voting).
The Board shall have power to provide for limitation of the number of members who shall be admitted in any one class.
Ordinary Members
An Ordinary Member shall be any person being the owner of a cutting horse which is either registered or capable of being registered, or who is interested in the activities of the Association who shall have made application and been duly approved by the Board and shall have paid any appropriate entrance fee and subscription and other dues (if any) entitling such person to full privileges of the Association. Every ordinary member shall be entitled to cast one (1) vote.
Life Members
Life Membership of the Association may be conferred by resolution of the Board on any person whom the Board thinks fit and upon payment of such sum as the Board may from time to time determine. Every life member shall be entitled to full privileges of the Association and shall be entitled to cast one (1) vote.
Youth Members
A youth member shall be a person under the age of 18 years of age being the owner of a cutting horse, either registered or capable of being registered, or who is interested in the activities of the Association who shall have made application and been duly approved by the Board and shall have paid any appropriate entrance fee and subscription and other dues (if any) entitling such person to full privileges of the Association. A youth member shall not be entitled to be elected to the Board of the Association nor shall a youth member be entitled to a vote.
Affiliate Members
(a) An affiliate member shall be any Association (whether incorporated or unincorporated), Club or other body which is in the opinion of the Board interested in the activities of the Association and which shall have paid an appropriate entrance fee and subscription and other dues (if any) entitling such person to full privileges of the Association.
(b) An Affiliate must have a constitution that is not in conflict with the objects and rules of the Association.
(c) An Affiliate member shall appoint not more than one (1) delegate who shall be aged eighteen (18) years or older and who shall be recorded by the secretary in the Register of members as delegate for such affiliate member, such delegate shall be the only person eligible to represent the affiliate member at meetings of the Association and if voting on behalf of such affiliate member
(d) An affiliate member shall through its delegate have the right to cast one (1) vote.
Constituent Members
(a) A constituent member shall be any Corporation, firm, partnership or syndicate which either owns a cutting horse which is either registered or capable of being registered or is in the opinion of the Board interested in the activities of the Association.
(b) A constituent member shall appoint not more than one (1) delegate who shall be aged eighteen (18) years or older and who shall be recorded by the secretary in the Register of members as delegate for such constituent member; such delegate shall be the only person eligible to represent the constituent member at meetings of the Association and if voting on behalf of such constituent member.
(c) A constituent member shall through its delegate have the right to cast one (1) vote.
Honorary Members/Honorary Life Members
An honorary member shall be elected by unanimous vote of the Board for such period as the Board shall resolve. No Honorary member shall be entitled to be elected to the Board of the Association nor shall an honorary member be entitled to vote.
Associated Members
An Associate Member shall be any person being the owner of a cutting horse which is registered or capable of being registered or who is interested in the activities of the Association who shall have made application and been duly approved by the Board and shall have paid any appropriate entrance fee and subscription and other dues (if any) entitling such person to full privileges of the Association.
An Associate Member shall not be entitled to a vote and shall be subject to such restrictions and regulations as the Board may from time to time determine.
Restricted Members
A Restricted Member shall be a person who shall have made application and been duly approved by the Board and shall have paid any appropriate entrance fee and subscription and other dues (if any). A Restricted Member shall not be entitled to a vote and shall be subject to such restrictions or regulations as the Board may from time to time determine.
